At TruMotion Therapy we are proud to offer our patients diagnostic ultrasound imaging services. Diagnostic ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to create an image of the area being scanned. This allows Dr. Sankey to accurately diagnose musculoskeletal injuries providing or patients with certainty in their diagnosis and a treatment plan that will lead to them moving and feeling better.
What is Diagnostic Ultrasound
Some common conditions that we have been able to diagnose with ultrasound and effectively treat include:
- Muscle strains: By identifying the severity of muscle strain we can help accurately gage the recovery timeline.
- Tendinitis vs Tendon Tear: Providing reassurance or encouraging caution is a benefit of visualizing the injured tissue.
- Bursitis: This condition is treated differently than normal muscle injuries. Knowing this information early is key.
- Nerve Entrapment: Knowing the site of nerve entrapment, like carpal tunnel syndrome, helps us direct a targeted treatment.
